What do I need to activate the service?

1. Obtaining an electronic certificate

You must hold a qualified certificate for electronic signature (with the name, surname and organisation) issued by První certifikační autorita, as, which will be stored on the HW equipment.

If you have not already obtained such a certificate, we will be happy to help you with our partner.

2. Signing a contract

Then all you have to do is sign the last paper contract for concluding the contractual documentation using an electronic signature in the eSign application.

Just contact your banker, who is already fully familiar with the eSign application.

How to obtain the electronic certificate

The partner of Sberbank CZ, a.s. for issuing qualified certificates is První certifikační autorita, a.s. (hereinafter also “I.CA”), which provides qualified services creating trust in accordance with EU and CZ legislation.

První certifikační autorita, a.s., in cooperation with Sberbank CZ, a.s. offers the possibility of simply obtaining a qualified electronic certificate on HW equipment for Sberbank CZ, a.s. clients at its branches in the Czech Republic.

A qualified certificate for an electronic signature stored on HW equipment provides much more than just access to the eSign application:

  • The possibility of using a qualified electronic certificate to also create the highest form of electronic signature for other communication purposes.
  • An electronic signature based on a qualified electronic certificate is recognisable throughout the EU and it is therefore possible to use it to communicate with authorities in the Czech Republic

Obtaining a certificate in person

Arrange a meeting at an I.CA branch, where they also provide hardware. You can find a list of these branches at I.CA – Branches with HW

  • We recommend that you contact the branch and arrange a date for the visit.
  • Submit Sberbank CZ, a.s. Client Form to an I.CA employee (downloadable)
  • We recommend asking about the I.CA Premium USB product, which includes a combination of the Twins service (qualified and commercial certificate), a Starcos chip card and a USB token (reader) for a computer. Everything you need with guaranteed functionality. A list of products and their prices can be found on the I.CA – Pricelist webpage.

To issue a qualified certificate for electronic signature, you will need to prove your identity according to the necessary legislation of the Czech Republic and the EU. Be sure to take the following with you to the meeting:

The meeting itself takes a matter of minutes. At the I.CA branch you will perform the following tasks:

  • Submission and verification of ID and other necessary documents
  • Selection of HW equipment that has pre-set PIN and PUK codes
  • Issuance of a qualified certificate
  • Installation of a qualified certificate on HW equipment
  • Physical signature of I.CA documents for the issued electronic qualified certificate

Be sure to check the data below. Thanks to them, our eSign application will recognise you.

  • The name and surname must be the same as in the contract on concluding contractual documentation using an electronic signature in the eSign application, which you conclude with Sberbank CZ, a.s.
  • The organisation must be listed in the same form as at Justice (www.justice.cz)

Installation of the service application on a PC

In order for the computer to understand the reader and be able to read the data from your chip card obtained in the process above, it is necessary to install a small service application from I.CA called SecureStore on all the PCs on which you are expecting to use the eSign application. The application is free and the installation takes a few moments. It is available for Windows and macOS, and you can download the latest version at any time from the I.CA – Applications to download site.
